Abstract

Reflections around the constitution of the folk category and around the contents, expres­sions and plastic manifestations of this category, considering the ethnographic issue of writing and of perception, trailing the history of the concept of people and advancing the understanding of the contexts and paths of the Portuguese folk culture.

Ciências do Trabalho e da Empresa, Universidade Técnica de Lisboa. Coordenador do Mestrado "Patrimónios e
identidades". Fundador e coordenador da colecção "Portugal de perto: biblioteca de Etnografia e Antropologia"
(Lisboa: D. Quixote). Director do Museu Nacional de Etnologia.
