This "Brief Note About the Quinto-Império (Fifth Em pire) in Agostinho da Silva" seeks to explore the theme of the Fifth Empire from its debut at the Portuguese culture via Father António Vieira's oeuvre to Agostinho da Silva, including the Fernando Pessoa· in Message, who restored the idea for the twentieth century. It is also interesting to notice the literal foundation of that idea from/which we can gather from the passage of the Book of Daniel which is in its base and whose hermeneutics usually goes unnoticed. We shall turn to texts by Agostinho da Silva, such as "Portugal ou as Cinco Idades" (Portugal or The Five Ages), which point to a social and civilizational understanding of the Fifth Em pire.
