Deus e liberdade em Agostinho da Silva
Keywords:
Dogma, Cosmos, Dialectic, Childhood, PedagogyAbstract
ln regard to God, Agostinho's thought is not confined to dogmas or to nihilistic rationalism, but rather inhabits the cosmic blast and man's creative imagination. It is a notion of the absolute consubstantial to divinity. Therefore, the relation existing/non-existing or visible/invisible does not avoid mystery nor does it blind the edge of reason. This dialectic, more Platonic than Hegelian, poses the question of God and Liberty unveiling semantics. The generous complexity of his concepts informs the exercise of fecund pedagogy that distinguishes the author among the best thinkers of Portuguese philosophy, full of creative intelligence and ethical behavior. It will be the perfect conjunction between cosmology and the intuitions of faith, which, powered by Love, according to Dante, "moves the sun and the other stars". This is confirmed by his own vision of the future: "the children's reign and the sacralization of the beasts and all things''.
