Abstract

The simulation theme constitutes Fernando Pessoas legacy in Agostinho da Silva's work, being Pessoa the poet who Agostinho most admired and loved. Pessoa is the source of Agostinho da Silva's fascination for the ficcional games of depersonalization and hete­ronyms, present in his poetic, ficcional and theoretical work. Pessoa's simulation theme is deeply connected to Agostinho da Silva's creative process of poetic feeling and of thinking, capable of heteronyms or of the awakening of a multiple or varied being in the being that feels, that knows and that think. On its most profound aspects, the simulation theme leads us to the metaphysics of heteronymic creation and to a heteronym theology.

Author Biography

Manuel Cândido Pimentel, Universidade Católica Portu­guesa (Lisboa)

Professor da Faculdade de Ciências Humanas da Universidade Católica Portu­guesa (Lisboa) e Director do Departamento de Filosofia e Director do CEFi - Centro de Estudos de Filosofia, na mesma instituição. Membro da Sociedade Científica da Universidade Católica Portuguesa, sócio-fundador e membro da Direcção do Instituto de Filosofia Luso-Brasileira, com obra dispersa por revistas em Portugal e no estrangeiro. Alguns títulos de sua obra: Antero de Quental: Uma Filosofia do Paradoxo (1993), Filosofia Criacio­nista da Morte: Meditação sobre o Problema da Morte no Pensamento Filosófico de Leonardo Coimbra ( 1994), Odis­seias do Espírito: Estudos de Filosofia Luso-Brasileira {1996) e A Ontologia Integral de Leonardo Coimbra: Ensaio sobre a Intuição do Ser e a Visão Enigmática (2003). Além da crítica e do ensaísmo, cultiva a poesia. De entre as suas obras, que tem assinado com o nome literário Manuel Cândido, destaca-se A Nudez do Tempo (1995).
