To underscand the development of the vision ofVieira da Silva, one must examine her life between Lisbon-Paris and Rio de Janeiro, analyzing the influences she received in the cultural context of those centers. The contact with French artists in the Paris of 1927, when the cicy was meeting point of ali avant-garde artists, must be considered. Vieira da Silva's move to Rio de janeiro during World War II, at a moment of great cultural change in Brazil, would be another point.
