Maria Peregrina de Sousa (1809-1894)
Abstract
Maria Peregrina de Sousa nasceu no Porto, em 13 de fevereiro de 1809. O nome de batismo era simplesmente Maria de Sousa, recebendo o acréscimo de Peregrina por seu tio, devido aos deslocamentos de sua família pelos arredores do Porto, quando da invasão francesa em Portugal. A menina Peregrina teve dificuldade, como todas de sua época, de acesso às artes e às letras. A dança e a leitura eram permitidas com moderação; ainda assim, ela só poderia ler obras de escritores portugueses, contanto que submetidas previamente a sua mãe.Downloads
