Abstract

This article adresses some aspects of convergence and particularity in two non-ficctional texts by José Saramago: Viagem a Portugal and As pe­quenas memórias. Experience records and life stories can offer other cri­tical possibilities for studies of the body of work of writers consecrated by the literary canon.

Professora aposentada da U Experience and report; memory, Saramago FJF. Mestre em Literatura Portuguesa pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro. Doutora em Literatura Portuguesa pela Universidade de São Paulo. Atuação em docência e pesquisa nos temas Literatura Portuguesa, romance português contemporâneo, José Cardoso Pires, José Saramago, comparativismo, memória e arquivo, acervos literários, Murilo Mendes. Principais publicações: Imaginação de uma biografia literária: os acervos de Murilo Mendes (2004), A jangada e o elefante: ensaios de crítica literária (2009), Número especial da Revista Ipotesi (PPG Estudos Literários da UFJF) sobre José Saramago (2011). Bolsista de Produtividade do CNPq entre 2000 e 2010. Membro da Diretoria da ABRAPLIP, biênio 2019/2021. Representante Regional na ABRAPLIP, biênio 2021/2023.
